Angela Rye is one of the few regulars on The Breakfast Club radio show. Charlamagne The God (real name Lenard McKelvey) invited her to the broadcast on December 6, 2016, after he received backlash for tweeting that he wished women of color had a platform “like Tomi Lahren did.” Rye and McKelvey previously co-hosted a podcast that received mixed reviews and aired for the last time in June 2019. She made her first appearance on The Breakfast Club in January 2017 and continued to appear on the show on a regular basis, frequently discussing the Trump administration and other pop culture topics. She was last heard on the radio show in March of 2020.
Angela She also worked as a Senior Advisor to the House Committee on Homeland Security, where she helped develop the overall political strategy, with a focus on modernizing government contracting practices and expanding opportunities for small businesses. She then worked as the 112th Congress’s Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. During her brief tenure as director, she was “tasked with developing the Caucus’ overall legislative and political strategy.” Rye left her position at CBC after just over a year, though she was previously affiliated with the CBC institute.
