Ben Crump was born on October 10, 1969, in Lumberton, North Carolina, in the United States. He was raised in a huge extended family with nine siblings and step-siblings. Ben was raised by his grandmother because his mother, Helen, worked as a hotel maid. She also worked at a Converse shoe factory in her hometown.
Ben went to South Plantation High School, which is located in Plantation, Florida. He eventually enrolled at Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1992. In 1995, he received his Juris Doctor degree after three years of study.
