Chris was born on August 9, 1970, in New York City to Matilda Cuomo and Mario Cuomo. His father Mario Cuomo is the former governor of New York. He also has a brother Andrew Cuomo who is the current governor of New York. Chris and his family are of Italian descent. His paternal grandparents were from Southern Italy while his maternal grandparents were from Sicily.
Chris went to The Albany Academy in New York. He then received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and Juris Doctor from Fordham University.
Career
Cuomo started his journalism career appearing on networks like CNBC, MSNBC, and CNN. He was also a correspondent for FOX News where he was assigned to cover a wide range of stories focusing on controversial social and political issues.
He was also a correspondent at ABC. At ABC, he covered at heroin addiction, Haiti earthquake, child custody, bullying, and homeless teens. Cuomo was also the news anchor for Good Morning America from 2006 to 2009. On that show, he covered the war on terrorism, and shootings happening inside the US.
Cuomo moved to CNN in February 2013. He made his debut on CNN as field anchor in an episode of Piers Morgan Tonight. In March 2018, he moved to primetime to host his own show “Cuomo Primetime”.
