Family and Early Life
Bezuidenhout was born on 18th May 1994 in Delmas, Mpumalanga in South Africa. He had a hard time growing up after he mistakenly took rat poison at the age of two. As a result, he suffered a severe stammer and anxiety. He is currently engaged to his long-term girlfriend Kristen Hart.
Career
Bezuidenhout experienced hard times during his amateur career before he turned professional in 2015. He tested positive for beta-blockers during the 2014 Amateur Championship and received a drug suspension. The suspension was originally for two years but was later reduced to nine months after it was established that he only took the drug for his anxiety and stutter problems and not for performance-enhancing purposes.
He turned professional in 2015 and in September he won two 36-hole events on the Big Easy Tour. He, however, lost in a playoff for the Big Easy Tour Championship but won the Order of Merit. Later in December Bezuidenhout won the Sunshine Tour Qualifying School. He finished runner-up in BMW SA Open being his first event on the tour. It was co-sanctioned with the European Tour. He also won the Sun Fish River Challenge and finished runner-up at the Vodacom Origins of Golf Finals.
In 2015, Bezuidenhout received 5th place finishes in the Eye of Africa PGA Championship as well as the Dimension Data Pro-Am Tournament. He received the 2016/2017 Rookie of the Year award. He played on several events on the 2017 Challenge Tour. Christian finished at the 25th place in the European Tour Qualifying School and secured a place on the tour for the 2018 season. He finished the season with a tie at the 17th place and was placed 105th in the Order of Merit. He retained his tour card for the 2019 season.
Bezuidenhout took part in the 2019 Commercial Bank of Qatar Masters and was one of the nine runners-up. He also won the Estrella Damm N.A Andalucia Masters and secured an entry into the 2019 Open Championship. He became third in the 2019 BMW PGA Championship and was ranked among the top 100 and was 18th in the European Tour Order of Merit. In 2020, he won the Dimension Data Pro-Am and was placed 50th on the Official World Golf Ranking.
