Family and Early Life
Dak Prescott was born on July 29, 1993. His father Nathaniel separated from his mother Peggy when Dak and his brothers were still young. His mother Peggy worked as a truck driver to make ends meet as a single mother. Dak was very close to his mother, he even shared the same bedroom with her up until he was in middle school.
Peggy was a great football fan, she even had a football tattoo on her hand with the number 3 written inside representing her 3 sons. She influenced her sons’ interest in the game. Peggy, unfortunately, died of cancer in 2013.
Career
When Dak joined Haughton High School, he became an instant star player for the schools’ football team. He won the District 1-AAAA championships in 2010 just before his graduation. Dak joined Mississippi State University and became part of the school’s football team. He received the redshirt in 2011 and he was officially made the group member.
In 2012 he played in 12 video games and scored four touchdowns and no interceptions. He later became a key player of the group in 2014. In the complete season, he broke 10 school records. He was named the SEC offensive player of the week three times and the Manning Award Player of the week five times.
Dak was named the most valuable player-MVP by end of the season during the 2013 Liberty bowl. He had the highest number of touchdowns. After college, he was picked up by Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round as the 135th overall pick and only played his first game in September.
