Where did the Migos get their wealth?
Migos became wealthy almost immediately after the release of their smash hit “Versace.” It opened a lot of doors for the trio, and major companies offered them a lot of recording opportunities as a result.
They negotiated deals with both YRN and 300 Entertainment in 2015, but by September they had decided that Quality Control Music was the preferable option and had gone independent. Migos collaborated with a number of artists following the success of “Versace,” including Drake, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Rich the Kid, and 2 Chainz.
“Yung Rich Nation,” their debut studio album, was released in July 2015. Quality Control, YRN, and 300 Entertainment distributed it a few months before their contracts expired. The CD includes 15 tracks and has received a lot of excellent feedback. The album debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 list when it was released. The album was instrumental in Migos being offered a contract with Kanye West’s label. In September 2016, they inked a management arrangement with Kanye West’s GOOD Music imprint.
Following the success of their debut album, Migos released their second, “Culture,” in January 2017. They announced at the time that they were no longer affiliated with West’s label. Their second album was even more successful than the first, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and became Migos’ first album to do so. Unlike “Yung Rich Nation,” “Culture” included a slew of celebrity collaborations, including Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Lil Uzi Vert, and DJ Khaled. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA six months later, and Migos received their first Grammy nomination in the category of “Best Rap Album” at the 60th Grammy Awards (in 2018).
It has been clear that their net worth of over $90 million comes from their success in music. They have released and collaborated with numerous artists and continue to gain fame.

Migos’ Offset Homophobic Lyric Controversy in 2018
Offset of Migos made an appearance on Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci’s song “Boss Life” at the end of 2017. Offset rapped the controversial lines throughout his verse:
“Pinky ring crystal clear, 40k spent on a private Lear/60k solitaire/I cannot vibe with queers.”
His remarks brought a lot of attention to him and Migos as a group. Offset since then apologized:
” I have said before since these issues before that I got love for all people. My passion for fashion has lead me to a lot of gay people around me who I have mad respect for and we are very cool so I’m not in a place where I’m hating like that. When I wrote that I was thinking of words that could rhyme with the others (here, lear, solitaire, bear) and I saw this definition about her having a queer feeling she was being watched and it fit what I was thinking about a stalker creepy paparazzi situation. To me that “queer” I don’t mean someone who’s gay. I mean lame people who film you, post it and stalk you. Lingo that means strange or odd.
